Town of Stratford 

 The Town of Stratford is the third-largest municipality in Prince Edward Island with a population approaching 7,000 persons. The Town is situated on a peninsula just south of the provincial capital and is bounded by Fullerton's Marsh, the Hillsborough River, Charlottetown Harbour, and the Hillsborough Bay. It is well known for its magnificent water views as well as its desirable and peaceful neighbourhoods, rich rural heritage and quality of life.

The area was first settled in the 1750's by Acadian families and early activities were farming, shipbuilding, and brick making. The Town was formed in 1995 from the former communities of Bunbury, Southport, Crossroads and Keppoch-Kinloch and the unincorporated area of Battery Point. The area population grew rapidly after the construction of the new Hillsborough Bridge in 1961.

Today, Stratford is the fastest growing municipality in the Province. It has become a full-service community with the development of its new commercial core; a new Town Hall, a new shopping centre, a pristine 18-hole championship golf course and the new Stratford Business Park. This creative business park, "where people come first", consists of 17 acres of fully serviced land, providing affordable and highly visible lots for new business ventures, three soccer fields that create a buffer to adjacent residential land, a trail system for residents and visitors, and ample open space to use and enjoy.
